Jayla Smith, Jamesport, Laura McAllister, Pattonsburg and Kathy Robertson of Gallatin, all family and consumer science teachers, were among 3,000 vocational instructors from throughout Missouri who participated in the 31st annual Missouri ACTE/MoEFACS State Inservice Conference.

The event was sponsored by the Missouri Association for Career and Technical Education (Missouri ACTE) and the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education. The conference, held July 25-27 in Springfield, focused on curriculum, technology, and other important topics for vocational education programs.

Participants had the opportunity to share ideas, review teaching materials and update their knowledge in specialized subject areas. The Missouri Educators of Family and Consumer Sciences (MoEFACS), a division of Missouri ACTE, offered a variety of presentations centered around the theme, “FACS: The Family and Career Connection.”
