Funeral services for Homer Fountain, brother of Duane of Pattonsburg, were held Saturday, Aug. 12, 2000, at Johnson Funeral Home in Albany. Burial was at Henton Cemetery, Albany.

Homer Fountain, 74, New Hampton, died Thursday, Aug. 10, 2000, at his residence.

Mr. Fountain was born in Evona on Feb. 19, 1926. He was a lifelong resident of Northwest Missouri.

During World War II, he served in the Army and received a Purple Heart.

Mr. Fountain was a farmer. He also drove a truck for the Sure-Grow plant in Bethany, until retiring.

On Nov. 14, 1949, he married Elizabeth A. Roach. She survives of the home.

Mr. Fountain was preceded in death by two sons, Marvin D. and Homer A.; two brothers, Dale and Virgil; and three sisters, Lou Wardrip, Maxine Burns and Jaunita Jackson.

Other survivors include two sons, Duane, New Hampton, and Donnie, Gilman City; three daughters, Patricia Fountain of the home, Dianna Seeley, Bethany, and Connie Foote, Kansas City; two other brothers, Kenneth, Martinsville, and Charles, Sumner; two sisters, Edith McGinniss, Falls City, Neb., and Christine Mock, Albany; nine grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
