CLOSE-OUT PUBLIC HEARING

PATTONSBURG, CDBG

The City of Pattonsburg will hold a public hearing at 1 PM on August 3, 2000 at City Hall to discuss the past performance by the city in carrying out the city’s 1994 Community Development Block Grant Flood project. The city received $5,875,000.00 in CDBG funds and program income monies generated by the sale of land and auction items, with these specific monies the city spent $2,580,000.00 on the land and site development (streets, water, sewer); $1,258,000.00 on Relocation Assistance of 25 property owners and 40 business buy-outs, provided 25% match of $612,000.00 on construction of 3 commercial structures; provided 10% match of $75,000.00 for demolition purposes; $369,000.00 was provided in the form of up to $5,000.00 Homeowner Assistance grants; and the balance was spent on professional services contracts. The $5,875,000.00 of Department of Economic Development (CDBG) funds was part funding of a near fourteen million dollar project to build and relocate Pattonsburg residents to a new town location. All interested citizens and groups are encouraged to attend the scheduled meeting.
