The treasurer’s report was given during the June 23, 2000, regular meeting of the Daviess County Central Emergency Communication (911 Board). The report showed a balance of $49,195.94 as of June 23. The following bills of $4,730.67 were presented: Place’s $108.15; Midwest Mobile $145.00; GTE 396.80; Community Health $867.18; Green Hills $171.77; SW Bell $1,684.27; Grand River Mutual $34.50; Gallatin Publishing $101.50; Alltel $652.66; Bartons $27.74; Geo-Com $350.00; Grand River Mutual $53.60; Lockridge Services $137.50.
The board agreed to have the carpet cleaned in the 911 dispatch office.
A motion was accepted to send a letter to Tim Andrew for the Motorola mobile radios and accessories to be returned to Central Dispatch Emergency Services in 10 days from receipt, plus those items currently in his possession. The letter was signed by Chairperson Tull.
Tim Andrew’s insurance continuance was discussed. Currently Mr. Andrew’s is in arrears for payment. The board decided to wait until payment to send Mr. Andrew’s premium to Community Health Plan.
Discussion about a pager for Supervisor Carder until later in the meeting.
The inventory of the video camera and the software package Quickbooks locations were discussed. Supervisor Carder does not have a key to the repeater tower. It was decided to call the City of Gallatin and Midwest Mobile to locate a key.
Discussion about a mobile pager and computers were tabled for prices on these items until next meeting.
Discussion about procedures for paging that includes both addresses and names were mentioned to help increase the response time of emergency personnel.
The board reviewed a complaint from Sherry and David Bridgeman dba Bridgeman’s Wreckers. After reviewing details of the situation the board decided that the decision was in the best interest of the tractor/trailer unit because of the ability to quickly remedy the situation on mile marker 62. Plus, it was not known that Bridgeman’s Wreckers had an air bag system that would be able to move the tractor/trailer. Bridgeman’s was the second in line to be called if the situation needed assistance. Discussion about the procedures for requesting wreckers and towing services were addressed. The procedure currently in place is either user’s request or service nearest to the situation that will be competent to do the service.
Jackie Parker was hired as a permanent part-time employee at $8.00 per hour.
Tim Andrew’s unemployment claim for benefits was discussed. It was decided that Belshe, Sullenger and Corwin would represent the 911 board at the hearing that will be scheduled later.
The above are the unapproved minutes of the regular meeting of the Daviess County Central Emergency Communication 911 Board held on June 23, 2000. Those board members present were Larry Belshe, Vicki Corwin, John Sullenger, Misse Tolen and Chairperson Larry Tull. Absent were David Leeper and Iva Ratliff.
