Dayton I. Polley, 97, Eagleville, died Wednesday, July 12, 2000, at an area Health Care Center.
Funeral services for Dayton I. Polley, grandfather of Dennis Ballew of Gallatin, were held Saturday, July 15, 2000, at the Roberson Funeral Home, Eagleville. Burial was in Masonic Cemetery, Eagleville. Memorial contributions may be made to the United Methodist Church, Eagleville, and may be left at the funeral home.
Dayton I. Polley, 97, Eagleville, died Wednesday, July 12, 2000, at an area Health Care Center.
Mr. Polley was born in Harrison County. He was a farmer until he retired.
Mr. Polley was a member of the United Methodist Church at Eagleville, where he had also served on the board. He was a former member of the Lions Club and Kiwanis Club, and had served on the Eagleville School Board.
On Feb. 19, 1923, he married Irene Lacy in Princeton. She survives of the home.
Mr. Polley was preceded in death by two sons, Myron Dean and Royce Randall Polley; four brothers, Harry, Clifford, Clayton and Edgar; and four sisters, Maudie, Ruby, Kathryn and Nellie.
Other survivors include two daughters, Marilyn Ballew and Ramona Smith, both of Eagleville; one son, Bradford Polley, Las Vegas, Nev.; one sister, Luna Thompson, Bethany; seven grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter.
