COUNTY COMMISSION

Following are approved minutes of July 10. Present were Presiding Commissioner David Tolen, Associate Commissioners David Holcomb and Danny Heldenbrand, and Deputy County Clerk Reta Rains.

Daniel Lynn, bridge supervisor, and James Lewis, foreman, met with the commission and discussed routine repairs.

Steve Bohannon, Marion Township landowner, met with the commission about a drainage problem around the Lewis Mill Bridge. Daniel Lynn will contact him and research the matter as to what steps need to be taken to correct the problem.

John Olds, landowner from Jefferson Township, met with the commission with concern about the property boundary on the abandonment of a road in Section 19 of Jefferson Township.

Bills were audited and paid.

Tom Houghton, sheriff, met with the commission concerning his long-distance bill and the rates that were being charged. A discussion was held and a decision was made to change to Westel for his office phones.

A letter was received from the Daviess County Library to have Daren Adkins appointed to fill the vacancy left by Helen Muller retiring from the board. Appointment was granted.
