The Winston R-VI School Board met in special session on Thursday, July 29. Present were board members Roger Barker, Julie Clark, Wayne Uthe, Gary Caldwell and Chretta Mastin, Supt. David Michael and elementary principal Lisa Bielby. Absent was board member Bob Clark.

The board reviewed and discussed the bid proposals for the new addition. Both complete bids received were over the $225,000 limit and were rejected. Some partial bids were received and were also rejected. The situation will be discussed with the architect and the board will decide how best to proceed at a future meeting.

The 1999-2000 budget was amended to reflect revenue and expenditure differences from the actual budget figures. The board acknowledged estimates of the 1999-2000 fiscal year combined ledger fund balance.

Barbara Youtsey was appointed to the board vacancy created by the resignation of Hope Becerra, who had served one year of a three-year term. That board seat will be open in next April’s election as a one-year unexpired term.
