Duane Matthew Bolling, 17, Paola, Kan., died Sunday, July 2, 2000, in rural Paola due to injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
Funeral services for Duane Bolling were held Saturday, July 8, 2000, at the Assembly of God Church in Paola, Kan., with arrangements by Wilson and Son Funeral Home. Burial was in Highland Cemetery, rural Paola, Kan. Memorial contributions may be made to the Duane Matthew Bolling Memorial Fund, care of the funeral home, 305 North Pearl Street, Paola, Kan., 66071.
Duane Matthew Bolling, 17, Paola, Kan., died Sunday, July 2, 2000, in rural Paola due to injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
Mr. Bolling was born in Overland Park, Kan., the son of Kevin Duane Bolling and Lorna Sue Allen Bolling. He was a life long resident of the Paola area and attended the Paola High School, graduating earlier this year.
Mr. Bolling participated in cross country lettering all four school years, including the state cross country meet his freshman year. He also lettered in track, tennis, wrestling, drama and band. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting, camping and fishing.
Duane worked for Price Chopper, and was currently working for Alberino’s Italian Restaurant as a dish washer for the past few months.
Mr. Bolling was accepted into the Army and was scheduled to leave for boot camp this year.
He attended the Church of the Nazarene in Spring Hill, Kan., and was a member of the First Baptist Church in Lesterville.
Survivors include his mother, Lorna Bolling and Walter Bishop of Paola, Kan.; his father Kevin and his wife Kathleen Bolling, Cassville; two brothers, Kyle and Dusty Bolling, both of Paola, Kan.; one half sister, Cheyanne Bolling, Cassville; one stepsister, JoJo Shearrer, Cassville; and two stepbrothers, Mike Raley, Patterson, and Brian Raley, Cassville; his maternal grandparents, Loran Ray and Beverly Sue Allen, Hamilton; his paternal grandparents, Bill and Sue Bolling, Lawson; his stepgrandmother, Joyce Paxton, Patterson; and his great-grandmother Vera Dominique, Hamilton.
