The Office of the Registrar at Northwest Missouri State University in Maryville recently announced the names of students who were named to the Academic or President’s Honor Roll at the end of the spring trimester.

Named to the President’s Honor Roll was Sommer Estes-Wiley, Gallatin. Sommer attained a perfect 4.00 GPA for the trimester.

To be named to the Academic Honor Roll a student must carry at least 12 credit hours and attain a GPA of 3.50 or above on a 4.00 scale. Students named to the Academic Honor Roll included Megan Uthe, Altamont; Rebecca Adkison, Heather Caselman and Christopher Henderson, Gallatin; Tracie Pittman, Jamesport; and Katie Burns, Pattonsburg.

Degrees were conferred on 170 graduates during commencement exercises at Hannibal- LaGrange College on May 6. Bonnie Lee Bandelier of Gallatin received her Associate of Science degree from the college.

Baker University awarded 481 undergraduate, graduate and nursing degrees at its spring commencement on May 14 on the Baldwin City campus. Andy Tompkins, Kansas Commissioner of education, and Congressman Dennis Moore, D-Kan., address the graduates.

Christopher Lasher, Gallatin, earned a BS in psychology.

Michael Benjamin Fischer, son of Mr. and Mrs. Donald L. Fischer of Winston, was named to the Dean’s List at William Jewell College for the 2000 spring semester. Michael is a senior Business Administration major at the college.

To qualify for the Dean’s List, a student must earn at least a 3.5 grade point average while carrying 14 or more semester hours.

Founded in 1849, William Jewell College, a private liberal arts college in Liberty, celebrated its 150th anniversary this academic year.

The following local students have earned a spot on the Central Missouri State University Dean’s List. Each semester, the Dean’s List is divided into two parts. Students who achieved a perfect 4.0 grade point average included Kelly W. Vanatta of Gallatin. Earning a GPA of 3.50 to 3.99 was Melanie R. Sieck of Gallatin.

Leslie Worrell Stanley received her Masters of Social Work Degree from the University of Missouri at graduation ceremonies held May 7, 2000, on the university campus. Mrs. Stanley is currently employed by Preferred Family Healthcare in Chillicothe.
