Legislators approve bonds totaling $2.25 billion to “jump start” Missouri’s 15-Year Road Plan. Couldn’t they have just seen to it that MoDOT won the state lottery?

The road plan’s description of a “jump start” really derives from the fact Jefferson City’s politicians were getting “jumpy” about taxpayer unrest over no “start.”

MoDOT officials continue to schedule meetings to determine what road projects Missourians would like to have. What part of the word “fixed” don’t they understand?

The best way to resolve the Elian Gonzalez problem in a hurry would be to make all the politicians who are having such fun over the situation eligible to adopt him.

Missouri may not have the best state government in America, but at least we’re provided with some relief with five-month rather than 12-month legislative sessions.

Gov. George W. Bush and Sen. John McCain have buried the hatchet, which if memory serves is the same term used by General Custer upon meeting Sitting Bull.

Taxpayers are reminded to release the hold they placed on their wallets when the General Assembly convened last January.
