Turn Over A New Leaf: Read is the theme for the statewide Missouri youth summer library program which is to be presented at the Daviess County Library in Gallatin and Jamesport. Children entering first grade through seventh grade and their families are invited to explore the natural world of Missouri.
Children may begin participating on the last day of the school year and can continue the reading fun through Aug. 1. All children who complete the reading requirements will have a new library book dedicated in their name and will qualify for prize drawings.
Turn Over A New Leaf: Read highlights Missouri’s native environment. In addition to reading for incentives, a variety of fun-filled activities will be scheduled to inspire children and their families to take a closer look at their own backyards.
June 12 will begin our Summer Story Time activities with a Laura Ingalls Wilder presentation and continue on June 15 with the return of Parasol Puppets.
The Daviess County Library welcomes entire families to join in Turn Over A New Leaf: Read. Make the year 2000 a new beginning for discovering the endless possibilities that are waiting with the turn of every page. Contact the library at 306 W. Grand in Gallatin at 660-663-3222 or the Jamesport Branch at 660-684-6120 for more information.
