Donations are still being accepted for the Gallatin R-5 prom lock-in scheduled for May 6. Volunteers are also needed. The lock-in is expected to be one of the best attended so far. Lock-in is intended as a safe alternative for young people who wish to celebrate after prom. It is held for Juniors and Seniors and their guest. “I think the kids are really going to be excited this year,” said Linda Bohannon, who is in charge of Lock-in this year.

Lock-in sign up begins at 11:00 p.m.

Doors are locked at 12:00 Midnight. Any student who needs to leave will have their parents notified.

Lock-in is over at 6:00 a.m. or after the auction is over

The auction begins at 5:00 a.m. with many very nice prizes. The students win “prom bucks” while playing the various games provided. This year there are some new games as well as the old ones, including Casino favorites. “The committees have done a superb job this year,” says Linda.

Games committee and chairman, Rhonda McCann have come up with some exciting new games. Carla Wilson, chairman of the Prize and Finance Committee has filled the school trophy case with some wonderful prizes. Decoration committee chairman, Wanda Taylor, assisted by Wanda Batson and Gina Dixon will transform the school into an evening of surprises. Judy Dowell, chairman of the Food committee has a lot of unique food ideas for the young people. Co-chairmen for the Clean-up committee are Russ and Brenda Davitt.

The entertainment will be fun and interactive.

Donations may be sent to Carla Wilson, Rt. 2, Gallatin, 64640, or at Hair Daze, 201 N. Maple, Gallatin, or contact Linda Bohannon at 663-2381.
