A Pattonsburg couple were injured in a one-vehicle accident Friday in Harrison County as they swerved to miss a deer.
Rebecca Youngs, 53, of 39425 W. 187th Ave., Pattonsburg, was listed with minor injuries. Her husband, William G. Youngs, 57, suffered moderate injuries. Both were taken by Noel T. Adams Ambulance to Harrison County Hospital in Bethany. The Patrol report indicated that Mr. Youngs was wearing a seat belt while Mrs. Youngs was not.
The accident occurred at 2 a.m. on Friday, April 21, on Rt. H, 2 1/2 miles east of Highway 13 in Harrison County. Mrs. Youngs, westbound on Rt. H driving a 1986 Ford, swerved to miss a deer and traveled off the right side of the roadway. She overcorrected and traveled across the eastbound lane, overturning one time. The vehicle came to rest on its top in the ditch.
The accident was investigated by Trooper Scott Shipers, assisted by Harrison County.
