Gallatin High School will be hosting a “Career Day” for Daviess County youth on Friday afternoon, April 28. Activities will begin at 1 p.m. and conclude approximately at 3 p.m., according to Jerry Batson, coordinator of the event.

During this time, students will have time to explore an assortment of 24 occupational areas that will be represented. The afternoon will be divided into four time periods during which students will have the opportunity to listen to area professionals explain the “ins” and “outs” of the select careers.

Students will have time after each session to question the professional on his/her job. A general session will present information on job opportunities in the Daviess County and surrounding area.

All juniors and seniors at county high schools have been invited to participate in “Career Day” this year. In addition to these, all of Gallatin’s students in grades 7-12 will be involved. This makes “Career Day” one of the largest activities, in terms of student participation, to occur at GHS.

At this time approximately 400 students are expected to be on hand in addition to the 24 professionals present.
