The test session is for those who want to receive their amateur radio license.
There will be an amateur radio test session held at Gallatin High School at 7 p.m. Monday, April 17. The test session is for those who want to receive their amateur radio license. The license is free and good for 10 years; cost of the test is $6.65 per person.
The new classes of license require only a five-word per minute Morse code test for the general and the extra classes. Monday’s session will test all classes of amateur radio: extra, general, and technician. The testers are Ron Asher, W0LW, Jerry Wine, NW0B, and Jack Willis, KB0VMK, all of Brookfield, and Jim Eskridge, WD0W, of Gallatin.
There has been an evening amateur radio class going on at the school for the past five weeks. Among those involved have been Boy Scouts, other interested students, and parents.
For further information, contact Dan McCann at the school, 663-2172, or at home 663-3977.
