Junior Girl Scouts joined with volunteers at the Daviess County Senior Center for an afternoon exchange of interest and hobbies. The girls learned about sewing, crafts, woodworking, and how to shoot pool.
Several seniors shared pictures and souvenirs from their travels and their years in the armed forces. In return the girls treated their new friends to cake and punch to celebrate the birthday of Girl Scouting.
The girls earned the “Across the Generations” badge for their participation in this event. Senior volunteers were: Cecil and Aline Akin – pool, crafts and veteran memories; Coleman Franks – crafts, pool, painting; Richard Hogan, veteran memories and pool; Sylvia Eads – sewing; Annabel Wilkerson – Hawaii; Mary Rogers – Paris; Betty Bird – crafts; Phyllis Gibbens – sewing; Betty Youtsey – travels; Geneva New – sewing; Gladys Youtsey – sewing; Jack and Mildred Mooney – crafts, pool.
Twenty-two girls attended from troops 147 and 212. Their leaders are Vicki Tague, Sharon Anthuis and Mary Jane Story.
