Joseph Clark “Joe” Froman, age 59, of Gallatin, died Tuesday, March 14, 2000, at St. Luke’s Hospital, Kansas City, MO.
Joe was born November 4, 1940, in St. Joseph, MO. He graduated from Gallatin High School in 1958 and was an avid football and basketball fan.
Joe was a cattleman. He loved and enjoyed being with his friends.
November 23, 1963, Joseph Clark Froman was united in holy matrimony with Miss Mary Lee Clements at the Gallatin United Methodist Church. She survives of the home.
Joe was a member of the First Baptist Church of Gallatin. He was a deacon for over 35 years and a Sunday School teacher for over 25 years. He was also a great sponsor of underprivileged individuals. He was a Corporal in the United States Army Reserve. He was a member of the Missouri Cattleman’s Association, the Texas Cattle Feeders’ Association, the Monroe Township board and the Tiger Scholarship Fund at M.U. Joe also loved serving for the Meals on Wheels program in Gallatin.
Joe was preceded in death by his daughter, Lea Jane Froman; his paternal grandparents, Kent and Mary Louise Froman; and his maternal grandparents, Joseph and Margie Walkup.
Survivors also include his father and mother, Kenneth Clark and Fallis Froman of Gallatin; his two daughters – daughter and son-in-law Carrie and Gene Crouse of Gallatin and Christie Jo Froman of Kansas City, MO; two brothers, John Kent Froman of Liberty, MO, and Daniel Fallis Froman of Gallatin; one granddaughter, Kirbie Jane Crouse and many dear friends.
Funeral services will be held Friday, March 17, at 10:30 a.m., at First Baptist Church of Gallatin. Family visitation will be held from 7 p.m. til 8:30 p.m., Thursday, March 16, at the church. Friends may call from 8 a.m. till 4 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home, at which time the body will be moved to the First Baptist Church for the family visitation. Interment will be in the Hillcrest Cemetery, Gallatin. Memorial contributions may be made to the Joseph Clark Froman and Lea Jane Froman Memorial Scholarship Fund or to the Tiger Scholarship Fund at M.U. in care of the Hope-Eldringhoff Funeral Home, 201 S. Market, Gallatin, MO 64640. Services are under the direction of the Hope-Eldringhoff Funeral Home, Gallatin.
