Officer Greg McCullough was sworn in Monday as Gallatin’s newest reserve police officer. McCullough resides in rural New Cambria and also currently serves as a reserve officer for the City of Higby.

McCullough received his law enforcement certification from Northeast Missouri State University, now Truman State, in 1995, through a program coordinated by the St. Charles (MO) Police Academy. McCullough has previously served in the Macon County Sheriff’s Department and with the police force in Calleo, MO. A 1976 graduate of Fort Osage High School in Independence, McCullough served as an emergency medical technician after high school after receiving certification from the University of Missouri-Kansas City. He was employed 10 years ago at Western Missouri Correctional Center in Cameron, and his knowledge of the area and Gallatin community influenced his decision to become a reserve officer here, he said.

Greg and his wife, Debbie, have 4 children – Jeffrey, Cody, Keri and Amy.
