Contracts for elementary and high school principals were offered at the regular meeting of the North Daviess R-3 Board of Education.
Contracts were offered to Rolinda Ford as elementary principal/teacher and to Todd Willhite as high school principal/teacher for 2000-2001 during the regular meeting of the North Daviess R-3 Board of Education held on Thursday, Feb. 17.
During new business, Denise Ray reported on the activities of the fifth and sixth grades including elementary basketball in March, proceeds of their fund raiser, the trip to Jefferson City on April 27, and materials she is using in science and math. The spelling bee students are Bruce Sweet, Colt Bohannon, Steven Steinman and Beth Morris. Darren Price has been presenting the D.A.R.E. program.
Kathy Chandler reported on third and fourth grade social studies showing the materials used for Missouri History and the notebooks the students created. She also had copies of the books students are reading for book reports.
During old business, Superintendent Kirby reported on the budget revisions and reviewed the revenues received.
Ms. Kirby presented bus bids and recommended that a committee of board members and bus drivers look for a new bus.
The new retention and tutoring policy was adopted.
During new business, Ms. Ford gave reports on a K-3 DESE grant and the curriculum committee.
Mr. Willhite reported on tutoring at the high school.
Board members present were David Iddings, Donald Baker, Bob Griffin, Rhonda Sweet, Beverly Hunter and Chris Nelson. Debbie Ray was absent. Also attending were Superintendent Julie Kirby and board secretary Beverly Hunter, Rolinda Ford, Todd Willhite, Pat Heaps, Denis Ray and Kathy Chandler.
The next regular meeting of the R-3 Board of Education was set for 7 p.m. on Monday, March 13, 2000, at the elementary lunchroom in Coffey.
