Marvin H. Thatcher, 88, Albany, died Feb. 19, 2000, at the Albany hospital.
Graveside service and burial for Marvin Thatcher, father of Gene of Pattosnburg, were held Tuesday at Oak Ridge Cemetery, Pattonsburg, with arrangements by Roberson-Polley Chapel, Albany. Memorials may be sent to Oak Ridge Cemetery, in care of the funeral home, 403 N. Hundley St., Albany, 64402.

Mr. thatcher was born in Gentryville. He lived in Yanke Lane and Darlington.
Mr. Thatcher, a farmer, served in the Army during World War II.
He was a member of Maple Grove Baptist Church, Darlington.
On May 18, 1946, he married Helen R. Rice. She survives of Albany.
Mr. Thatcher was preceded in death by a brother, Cleo; and a sister, Helen Woods.
Other survivors include a daughter, Sharon Grace, Albany; two sisters, Ada Lane, Albany, and Virginia Bridgeman, Hamilton; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
