Families Acting For Community Traffic Safety (FACTS I) and the U.S. Department of Transportation sponsored a “NO ZONE” assembly on Friday, Feb. 11, for Gallatin students in grades 9-12. Larry Green, owner of the trucking firm Gen Com Inc. of Marshall, helped students learn about the “blind spots” with commercial motor vehicles. Missouri ranks 11th in the country in regards to fatalities involving commercial motor vehicles. Students watched a film and then had the opportunity to get behind the driver’s seat of a big rig. The assembly served as a project for the FACTS students. FACTS is a national program by FCCLA members. [Staff Photo/TLH]
