Gallatin Cub Scout Pack 67 celebrated Scout Week and Scouting’s 90th anniversary at its Blue and Gold Banquet.
Gallatin Cub Scout Pack 67 celebrated Scout Week and Scouting’s 90th anniversary at its Blue and Gold Banquet on Thursday evening at Searcy Elementary School. Animal call expert, Ralph Duren of the Missouri Department of Conservation, entertained a crowd of 170, including 39 Tiger Cubs, Cub Scouts and Webelos.
The pack honored many of its community supporters, including Clayton and Mildred McBroom, David Roll, Jone Perry, Covel Searcy of the Gallatin Lions Club, Martin Sweatman, Gary Carder, Danny Critten, Jack Mooney, Doyle Patton, Bill Walker, Rev. Ray Smith and the First Christian Church, and Darien Rutherford.
Cubmaster Eric Corwin was presented an appreciation plaque for his dedicated service by the den leaders and pack committee.
Scouts receiving awards included: Tiger Clubs — Jacob Faibian, John Corwin, Nathan Allen, Tyler Avariette, Dakota Goll and Myrick McLey.
Cub Scouts-Dens 2 & 6 — Kevin Corwin, Britton Wright, Corey McLaughlin, Levi Michener, Adam Andregg, Billy Kerns, Rex Hacker and Josh McLey received their Wolf rank and some arrow points.
Cub Scouts-Dens 1 & 5 — Tyler Critten, Trevor Ward, Nick Rutherford, Andrew Pierce, Robert Rhoades, Rickey Allen, Caleb Cole, Nathan Tague and Jordan Phelps received their Bear rank and some arrow points. Phillip Arnold, who had receive his Bear rank in January, earned an arrow point.
Webelos-Den 4 — Ike Huffman, Kevin Chadwick, Stephen Wood and D.J. Wilson received several activity pins toward the Webelo rank.
The final highlight of the evening was the presentation of the Arrow of Light, the highest rank in Cub Scouting, to Jonathan Arnold, Logan Corwin and Riley Rains, who accepted their invitations to cross over and join Boy Scout Troop 67.
