Melvin and Claudine Lighthill will be celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary on Feb. 20, 2000, with a reception from 2-4 p.m. on Feb. 20 at the Gilman City Assembly of God Church. Melvin and Claudine were married Feb. 19, 1950, in Johnstown, Neb.

Melvin served in the armed forces as a sergeant in the Army. He and Claudine lived most of their married life in Valentine, Neb., with their family, until 1965 when they purchased a farm between Jameson and Gilman City.

Melvin and Claudine farmed. Melvin also worked for Gallatin Motors and Tate Brothers, until he retired in 1987. They now reside in Gilman City.

Their golden wedding anniversary reception will be hosted by their children: Tom and Phyllis Heckenbach of Lake Viking; Duane and Joyce Lighthill of Eagleville; and Mike and Lois Runyan of Gower. They have seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and five step great- grandchildren.

All friends and neighbors are invited to come and help the couple celebrate this wonderful occasion. No gifts, please.
