The deadline for Farmers’ Electric Cooperative’s 37th Annual Youth tour to Washington Essay Contest is rapidly approaching.
Area high school juniors have until 4:30 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 25, to turn in their essay. Three students will win all expense paid trips to Washington, D.C.
The students are asked to submit a 250-600 word essay. This year’s subject is “A Day Without Electricity.” Essay applications and guidelines have been mailed to the junior class English teachers at all of the high schools that lie within or border FEC’s service territory. Applications may also be picked up at the cooperative office in Chillicothe.
The winning students will travel to the nation’s capitol with approximately 80 fellow students, that have been sponsored by other Missouri electric cooperatives.
