Three Gallatin Bulldogs, Blake Parker, Randy Eaton and Daniel Wilson, will travel to Lexington High School on Saturday for the Class 1A-2A #2 Sectional Wrestling Tournament. All 3 earned qualifying berths at last Saturday’s District 4 Tournament held at Trenton.

Randy Eaton claimed a 2nd place finish in the district’s 160-pound class. The GHS junior lost, 7-2, in the championship match to Trenton’s Josh Eaton, and will face junior Kennen Hager of Higginsville in his opening match. Hager was the 3rd place finisher at the District 3 tournament held at Higginsville High School.

Wilson decisioned Trenton’s Adam Miller, 10-6, to take 3rd place in the district heavyweight division. He will face John Steenburgen of Warsaw in his opening sectional match. Steenburgen placed 2nd in the District 3 competition.

Parker was pinned Saturday in his 3rd place match against Marceline’s B. J. McCune. He will face Marcus Russell of Higginsville in the sectional’s 1st round in the 125-pound class. Russell pinned Lamar of Boonville to win the District 3 class.

Saturday’s sectional at Lexington will showcase the top wrestlers from 4 of the top 10 ranked teams in Missouri’s 1A-2A field. Joining Gallatin in the event are Brookfield, #8 Cameron, Carrollton, #3 Marceline, Hamilton, Polo, South Harrison, Trenton, #6 Boonville, #10 Knob Noster, Higginsville, Lexington, New Bloomfield, Tipton, Versailles, Warsaw and Wentworth Military Academy.

The top 4 finishers in each weight class advance to the 69th MSHSAA Boys Wrestling Championships to be held Feb. 17-19 in the Hearnes Center on the University of Missouri-Columbia campus.
