Training to enable farmers to become licensed to purchase and apply restricted use pesticides will be offered in our area according to the following schedule:

Wednesday, Feb. 16 7:30 p.m. Mid Buchanan School Faucett

Monday, Feb. 21 1:30 p.m. Bank of Fairport Maysville

Thursday, Feb. 24 1:30 p.m. Extension Center Chillicothe

Tuesday, Feb. 29 7 p.m. M.F.A. Exchange Hamilton

To be licensed as a private pesticide applicator in Missouri, one must be at least 18 hears old and a producer of agricultural commodities. State and federal law requires that all pesticides be classified as either for general or restricted use. The law further states that to purchase or apply restricted use pesticides, one must be licensed or be under the direct supervision of a licensed applicator. Pesticides receive the restricted use classification because they have a greater potential to harm either the environment or the applicator.

There is no charge for this training and it lasts about two and one half hours. Please bring a pencil and paper with you. Advance registration is not necessary. For more information, contact Bob Rudolph at the Caldwell County Extension Center, 816-586-2761 or John Ferguson at the Daviess County Extension Center, 660-663-3232.
