William W. Logston, 31, of Lake Viking was arrested Jan. 28 and charged with the Class C felony of involuntary manslaughter in connection with a July 25, 1999, boating accident at Lake Viking. Twelve-year-old Trevor Best of Maysville was killed and four others injured in the accident. Bond was set at $35,000. Logston, who was charged immediately after the accident with the misdemeanor of reckless and negligent operation of a watercraft, is incarcerated at Western Missouri Correctional Center at Cameron on a probation violation.

A 26-year-old Winston man was arrested Feb. 1 and charged with the Class A misdemeanor of stealing.

Brock A. Larkin, Jamesport, reported vandalism to his 1986 Dodge 1/2-ton truck on Jan. 25 when the windshield and both side windows were broken and a couple of small dents were found in the passenger door.

Cody R. Maize, Pattonsburg, reported burglary of his residence on Jan. 13. Missing was a necklace valued at $60.

A television set that was reported stolen from the Danny Meador residence at Pattonsburg was recovered Jan. 14 in Pattonsburg and returned to its owner. Charges are pending in the case.
