Over 100 people attended a 4-hour planning meeting called by the Pattonsburg Area Chamber of Commerce on Jan. 25. Four committees were formed to promote improvements: parks and recreation, business development, community betterment, and education. Anyone interested in joining any of these committees or becoming a member of the Pattonsburg Area Chamber of Commerce is invited to the next meeting set for 2 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 8 at Pattonsburg City Hall.

The facilitator at the recent planning meeting was Jack Briggs, economic developer for NW Electric. Other participants included economic developer Terry Rummery of Farmers Electric Cooperative; Maggie Lesnek and Rick Childers both of Missouri Economic Development; Kathy Harpenau of USDA Rural Development; Ron Cornett of Bethany Trust Company; Gary Reynolds of Guaranty Bank at Pattonsburg; and Daviess County Commissioners David Tolen, Danny Heldenbrand and David Holcomb. A luncheon was provided by Farmers’ Electric with assistance and serving by Judy Horton and staff of the Pattonsburg Multi-Purpose Center.
