Wayne Eudell Griffin, 76, Trenton, died Jan. 19, 2000, at a Trenton hospital.
Funeral services for Wayne Griffin, stepfather of Ann Fruits, Gallatin, were held Saturday, Jan. 22, 2000, at Tenth Street Baptist Church in Trenton with arrangements by Slater Funeral Home of Trenton. Burial was at Resthaven Memorial Gardens, north of Trenton. Memorials may be made to the Tenth Street Baptist Church Building Fund.
Wayne Eudell Griffin, 76, Trenton, died Wednesday, Jan. 19, 2000, at a Trenton hospital.
Mr. Griffin was born in rural Spickard and attended its high school.
He served in the Quarter Master Corps during World War II and re-enlisted in Army-Aviation. He also served during the Korean and Vietnam wars. He received the Fame Theater Ribbon, Silver Star, and Bronze Arrowhead WWII Victory Ribbon.
Mr. Griffin retired after 21 years in the service. After his military retirement, he owned and operated Griffin Auction Service and also worked for North Missouri Lumber Co. and Montgomery Ward. He worked for Ford Motor Co. for seven years.
Mr. Griffin was a member of the Tenth Street Baptist Church and Joseph L. Norton VFW Post 919 in Trenton.
On Aug. 14, 1963, he married Lois A. Proctor. She survives of the home.
Mr. Griffin was preceded in death by two sisters, Averial Reddington and Ardith Hartman.
Other survivors include four other stepdaughters, Joy Ferguson, Columbia, Paula Rosengrant and Ina Ferguson, both of Peoria, Ill, and Janet Underdahl, International Falls, Minn.; three brothers, Charles Jr., Tucson, Ariz., Buel, Bella Vista, Ark., and Justin, Trenton; two sisters, Doris Roussell, Shawnee, Kan., and Deloris Nigh, Kansas City, Kan.; 19 step grandchildren; and two step great-grandchildren.
