Funeral services for Mildred Gibson, sister of Minnie Huffman of Gallatin, were held Sunday, Jan. 23, 2000, at the First Assembly of God Church in Trenton. Burial was at Springer Cemetery, north of Brimson. Arrangements were by Resthaven Mortuary, north of Trenton. Memorials may be made to the Missouri Crippled Children.
Mildred Faye (Hobbs) Gibson, 86, Trenton, formerly of Brimson, died Thursday, Jan. 20, 2000, at a health-care center in Trenton.
Born in Harrison County, Mrs. Gibson attended school in that county. She had been a resident of a health-care center in Trenton since 1992.
On Jan. 12, 1933, she married Raymond J. Gibson.
They lived in Harrison and Grundy counties all their married lives. He died in 1982.
Mrs. Gibson also was preceded in death by a son, Wesley; two brothers, Charlie and Wayne Hobbs.
Other survivors include seven daughters, Verla McCarty, Lineville, Iowa, Marilyn Shackelford, Helen Swank and Charlene Arnold, all of Brimson, Mevelyn Cheshier, Redfield, Ark., Nancy Burkeybile, Trenton, and Becky Ragan, Cameron; five sons, Mervin, Gilman City, Lyle, Brimson, M.S. and Kenneth, both of Trenton, and Steve, Dearborn; a brother, Tommy Hobbs, Trenton; two other sisters, Nellie Ray and Naomi Stretch, both of Chillicothe, and; 26 grandchildren; two step grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; seven step great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.
