COUNTY COMMISSION
Following are approved minutes of Jan. 10. All members were present.
Bill Wright, deputy sheriff, met with the commission submitting a letter of resignation. He also had questions regarding vacation and leave time.
Daniel Lynn, bridge supervisor, and James Lewis, foreman, met with the commission reporting on Missouri Department of Transportation inspections and repair projects.
Ron Ford, Liberty Township trustee, requested that a portion of Quartz Avenue, approximately one-half mile, be graveled, making the entire length of that road improved. The county agreed to pay half the costs of the base rock according to our latest bid price, if the brush is removed and the township opens the ditches. At the time these improvements are made, the entire road will be added to the CART program.
Two vacancies on the Daviess County Board for the Developmentally Disabled were reported. David Holcomb moved to appoint Vernetta Davis and Carrie Laughlin to fill these vacancies. David Tolen seconded. Carried.
The remainder of the day was spent reviewing budget requests. The commission met with Tom Houghton, sheriff; Tom Everly, assessor; and the Extension Council.
The delinquent personal tax list was increased by valuations totaling $6,850.
