Rev. William Odelle Martin, 37, Chillicothe, died Jan. 17, 2000, at a Kansas City hospital.
Funeral services for Rev. William O. Martin will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 21, 2000, at Calvary Baptist church, Chillicothe. Burial will be at Brassfield Cemetery, Chillicothe. Visitation is from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday and from 8 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Friday at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, where the family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Thursday. Visitation is from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Friday at the church. Memorials may be made to the William Odelle Martin Memorial Fund in care of the funeral home, P.O. Box 47, Chillicothe, 64601.
The Rev. William Odelle Martin, 37, Chillicothe, died Monday, Jan. 17, 2000, at a Kansas City hospital.
Rev. Martin was born in Phoenix., Ariz. He was a graduate of Hickman High School in Columbia and from Southwest Baptist University.
Rev. Martin was youth minister for Calvary Baptist Church in Chillicothe and served the Olive Baptist church in Gallatin from 1985 to 1986. He served the Calhoun Baptist Church and Bagnell Baptist Church at Lake Ozark from 1986 until 1988. He served Province Baptist Church form 1988 to 1990. From 1991 until 1995 he served Mount Olive Church in Florence. From 1995 until the present he had served as a supply pastor for various churches.
Rev. Martin was active in the Community Theater in Gallatin and Sedalia.
On May 31, 1986, he married Connie Reeter in Chillicothe. She survives of the home.
Rev. Martin was preceded in death by an infant son; his mother, Charlotte; a brother, Ed; maternal grandparents, paternal grandfather, paternal step-grandfather, and two infant sisters.
Other survivors include a son, Jonathan, of the home; his father, Sam, Downing; and a brother, Andrew Martin, Colorado Springs, Colo.
