Gallatin claimed 3 individual medals during Saturday’s South Harrison Wrestling Tournament.

Gallatin claimed 3 individual medals, including one first place finish, during Saturday’s South Harrison Wrestling Invitational. Due to injuries and eligibility requirements, the Bulldogs took only 7 wrestlers to the event.

Randy Eaton raised his season record to 8-2 by winning all 3 of his matches and claiming the title in the 160-pound weight class. Eaton capped the day with a 2nd period pin of GRC rival Dameon Cooper of Albany.

Daniel Wilson earned a 3rd place medal in the 215-pound class after pinning Lathrop’s Jerrod Day in the 3rd period of their match. Wilson, now 6-5, won 3 of 4 matches during the day. Austin Story wrestled to a 2-2 record for the day to finish 4th in the 140-pound weight class. His record for the season is 5-7.

Blake Parker did not win a match but lost a 3-2 decision in a final bout that would have put him in the medal round in the 125-pound class. All scoring came in the last period. Andrew Parker won a match in the 135-pound weight class.

Cameron claimed 5 individual championships. Savannah finished with 3 champions.

Final team standings at South Harrison were: 1. Cameron 192.5, 2. Maysville 147, 3. Savannah 114, 4. South Harrison 98, 5. Albany 78, 6. South Holt 73, 7. Stanberry 56, 8. Gallatin and KC Center 48, 10. Lathrop 47, 11. Lamoni 0.

Gallatin won only 3 of 8 contested matches in last Thursday’s dual with the Hamilton Hornets, but the Bulldogs took advantage of 4 Hamilton opens to come away with a 42-29 Grand River Conference victory. B. J. Jones, Randy Eaton, Brant Conover and Anthony Bossler all received forfeit victories.

In the night’s contested matches, Blake Parker pinned Joey Johnson (125), Justin Baker pinned Willie Dahms (130), Andrew Parker lost by technical fall to Phillip Snodgrass (135), Austin Story pinned T. J. Meyers (140), D. J. Harper was pinned by Manlee Lamar (145), Luke Leeper was pinned by Dustin Shepherd (152), Cody Boehm was pinned by James Smith (171) and Daniel Wilson was pinned by Anthony Eaton (215).
