Graveside services for Shelby Danley were held at 1 p.m. today (Wednesday, Jan. 5, 2000) at East Slopes Cemetery, Riverside, with arrangements by the Amos Family Chapel of Shawnee. The family suggests memorial contributions to the American Cancer Society.

Shelby J. Danley, 72, Overland Park, Kan., died Monday, Jan. 3, 2000, at Shawnee Gardens Nursing Center.

Mr. Danley was a Navy veteran of World War Two. He was wounded on Iow Jima and received the Purple Heart.

Mr. Danley worked for the Shawnee Mission Post Office and was General President of the Shawnee Mission Postal Workers Union before retiring in 1986.

Mr. Shelby was a member and former Chairman of the Board of Lake Viking Church in Gallatin.

Survivors include his wife, Ruby of the home; a son, Michael Danley of Overland Park, Kan.; two daughters, Lori Irwin, Kansas City, Kan., and Cynthia Jones, Louisburg, Kan.; and five grandchildren.
