Funeral services for Edith Barnhart, mother of Kayla Michael of Gallatin, were held Thursday, Jan. 6, 2000, at the Newcomer Floral Hills Chapel, 7000 Blue Ridge Blvd., Kansas City. Burial will be in Floral Hills Cemetery. The family suggests contributions to your favorite charity.

Edith E. “Libby” Barnhart, 74, Independence, died Monday, Jan. 3, 2000, at Research Medical Center in Kansas City.

Mrs. Barnhart was born in Dallas County, Mo., and had lived in the Raytown area 27 years before moving to Texas and then Independence.

She retired from the Bendix Corporation in Kansas City as a cafeteria supervisor.

Mrs. Barnhart was a member of the Blue Ridge Baptist Temple and the Ladies Auxiliary of Raytown, V.F.W. Post #4242.

Other survivors include her husband, Wayne of the home; three sons, Denny W. of Ft. Worth, Texas, Timmy Joe of Lenexa, Kan., and Jim of Independence; a brother, James Charles Garner of Reseda, Calif; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
