Thomas Jewell Hemry, age 87, of Gallatin, died Wednesday, December 22, 1999, at the Daviess County Care Center, Gallatin.
Jewell was born March 24, 1912, in Daviess County, Missouri. He graduated from Gallatin High School in 1930 and also attended the University of Missouri, Columbia, MO.
Jewell was a lifelong resident of Daviess County and had farmed all his life.
He was a member of the First Christian Church, Gallatin.
Jewell was preceded in death by his parents, Martin and Eva (Keck) Hemry; a brother, Charles Everett Hemry and a sister, Mildred Ferrell.
S urvivors include his nephews, Don and Warren Hemry of Gallatin; his nieces, Martha Sample of Cordova, IL and Dorothy Lou Eden of Chula Vista, CA; his cousins, Charlene Hemry Potts and Richard Keck of CA and Joy Tuggle Johnson of Plant City, FL and a host of friends.
Funeral services will be held Monday, December 27, 1999, at 1:30 p.m. at the Hope-Eldringhoff Funeral Home. There will be no scheduled visitation, but friends may call anytime after 8 a.m. on Sunday. Interment will be in the Brown Cemetery, Gallatin. Memorial contributions may be made to the First Christian Church Memorial Fund of Gallatin in care of the funeral home at 201 South Market, Gallatin, MO 64640.
