There will be a wrestling camp and tournament for students at Covel D. Searcy Elementary School beginning on Jan. 3 and running through Jan. 15. Instruction at the camp will be given by Doug Nichols, varsity high school wrestlers and other adults.
The wrestling camp schedule is as follows:
Jan. 3, 4, 10 & 11, 5:30-6:30 p.m. for 5, 6 and 7 year olds; 6:30-7:30 p.m. for 8 and 9 year olds; 7:30-8:30 p.m. for 10, 11 and 12 year olds. Jan. 6 & 13, 3:00-4:00 p.m. for 5, 6 and 7 year olds; 4:00-5:00 p.m. for 8 and 9 year olds; 5:00-6:00 p.m. for 10, 11 and 12 year olds.
The wrestling tournament for peewees will be held on Saturday, Jan. 15, with wrestling to begin at approximately 9 a.m. Wrestlers will be matched up by age and weight and will get to wrestle 2 or 3 times that day.
Parents are asked to sign a parental permission form and send back to the school in care of Doug Nichols. Anyone with questions should call the school at 663-2173.
