The Gallatin Bulldogs dispatched a pesky Princeton team Friday night to move to 1-0 in the Grand River Conference and 5-1 on the season. The Bulldogs led by 20 points early in the 3rd quarter but the Tigers were able to cut their deficit to single digits in the 4th period. Gallatin moved to 6-1 overall and 3-0 against the HDC with a 75-30 victory over Gilman City on Tuesday.

Against Princeton, Kenny Youtsey scored Gallatin’s first 7 points on the way to an 11-point scoring night. Quentin Carroll bombed 3 treys in the 1st half to account for his 9 points. He also chalked up 4 steals and pulled down 6 rebounds. Chad Sullenger also tossed in 9 for the Dogs and dished out 4 assists.

Robert Heldenbrand led all scorers and rebounders for Gallatin with 20 points and 8 boards. He also dished out a team-high 5 assists. Joey Evans pulled down 7 boards and chipped in 5 points.

Princeton, 4-2 and 0-1, received 13 points from Brad Fletcher and 11 from Reggie Peace.

Gallatin held a big advantage in the turnover department with 7 to Princeton’s 17.

Carroll’s 4 treys in the opening quarter rocketed the Bulldogs to a 27-4 lead in Tuesday’s runaway win over Gilman City. Carroll finished with 19 points to share game-high honors with Sullenger. Heldenbrand added 15 points. Evans and Brice Garnett each chipped in 8 points for the Dogs.

Jesse Crump scored 15 points to lead the Hawks.
