C. Dale Hiatt, 70, died Nov. 16, in Colville.
Memorial services for C. Dale Hiatt, a native of Jameson, were held Nov. 19 at the Riplinger Funeral Home in Spokane, Wash., with arrangements by the Danekas Funeral Chapel Inurnment preceded at the Greenwood Cemetery in Spokane. Memorial tributes may be made to the Shrine Hospital.
C. Dale Hiatt, 70, died Nov. 16, 1999, in Colville.
Mr. Hiatt was born and raised in Jameson. He graduated form the Gallatin High School. He attended Chillicothe Business College for one year.
He served in the Air Force during the Korean Conflict. After training with the 814th Supply Squadron at Lowery AFB, Colo., he was transferred to Fairchild AFB in Spokane as a supply records specialist with the 92nd Bombardment Wing. In 1954, Mr. Hiatt received an honorable discharge as a Staff Sergeant with a Good Conduct Medal and a National Defense Service Medal.
He married Jackie Thiel and moved to a ranch near Washtuana. He later divorced and Mr. Hiatt moved back to Spokane and worked for Riegel-Becker Motors in the parts department. On Feb. 1, 1957, he married Pat Driscoll at Coeur d’Alene, Idaho.
In 1967, Mr. Hiatt and his family moved to Chicago where he attended DeVry Electronics School. After graduation, he worked for Magnavox until 1969, when the family returned to Spokane. He was employed by Spokane School District No. 81 for 15 years in maintenance.
He was a member of the Loyal Order of the Moose Lodge and served as a clown with the Moose “Merrymakers” clown group. In 1986, Mr. and Mrs. Hiatt moved to the Flat Creek area near Northport.
Mr. Hiatt was preceded in death by a son, Jerry Gerritsen.
Survivors include his wife, Pat Hiatt, Kettle Falls; six children, Tim Hiatt, Nine Mile Falls, Rosemary Diaz, San Antonio, Texas, Lonny Hiatt, Spokane, Lou Moss, Alpharetta, Ga., Terry Gerritsen, Oregon City, Ore., Sherry Gleave, Oregon City; one sister, Ilah McCubbin, Kansas City; and numerous grandchildren.
