KAW fire fighters inducted Frank Forgey of Winston as an honorary member of their department during the November meeting at the Altamont station.
KAW volunteers had their annual Christmas party Dec. 8 at the Winston fire station with 23 members and five guests. Our guests were Ernie Forgey, Larry Tull, Jason Smith, and Carol and Renee Hullenger.
Altamont community held the Christmas tree lighting and visit from Santa Claus Sunday, Dec. 12, at the Altamont City Hall. Several hundred dollars worth of toys were given away to all the children that were present. The toys were donated by House of Loyds in Grandview. The adult drawings were for two hams donated by Premium Standard Farms in Princeton. Items were taken to Altamont residents of the Daviess County Care Center, and to shut-ins unable to attend
