Farmers’ Electric Cooperative recently paid its property taxes in the counties it serves. In all, the FEC paid more than $200,000.
Farmers’ Electric Cooperative paid over $200,000 in property taxes to nine north Missouri counties in 1999.
An overall total of $200,344.56 was paid by the cooperative as a result of its plant (power lines, poles, transformers, etc.) located in the counties of Daviess, Caldwell, Carroll, Chariton, Clinton, DeKalb, Linn, Livingston and Ray.
Property taxes paid by county were as follows:
Caldwell $26,382.33
Carroll $21,406.74
Chariton $9,245.63
Clinton $403.69
Daviess $45,172.65
DeKalb $3,908.34
Linn $15,651.28
Livingston $54,283.47
Ray $23,890.53
The addition of approximately three million dollars in plant in the last year added over $35,000 to the cooperative’s taxes in 1999.
