From June 1998 through July 1999 Olive Baptist Church, 29312 State Hwy. “V” Gallatin, subscribed to 10 issues of “The Daviess County Gospel News” which were sent to about 2,600 residences in the 64640 and 64648 zip codes every six weeks. Partial support for this outreach ministry was received from 19 sponsors: seven businesses in Jamesport and Gallatin; four churches; and eight or more families associated with Olive Baptist Church. Many recipients of this free paper expressed their appreciation, saying the articles were timely and helpful.
Recently Olive Baptist has called Larry Elrod to be pastor. Pastor Larry and his wife, Klaudia, are students at Midwestern Baptist Seminary. Bro. Larry is at Olive for all services and lives on the church property on weekends. His wife and their son, Ben, add a lot to the ministry.
Olive Baptist Church, with the help of the First Baptist Church at Gallatin, has subscribed to four more issues of The Daviess County Gospel News. If you are in the above zip codes you should receive the December issue in the next few days. The remaining three issues will be sent in April, June and September next year.
