Gallatin Sunrise Center will be closing temporarily for a complete renovation and will reopen sometime in 2000 as a 14-bed residential care facility. Both Gallatin Sunrise Center and Daviess County Care Center are now owned by James Lincoln of Health Systems, Inc.
The residents and families at the Sunrise Center have been given their choice of facility for final placement. Most residents plan to move to Daviess County Care Center. All costs incurred for moving will be met by Health Systems, including phone, cable television and the moving of furniture regardless of choice of facility. Most if not all of the moves will be accomplished prior to Thanksgiving, Nov. 25.
A reorganization of staffing will provide improved services and operational efficiencies. Mr. Lincoln has guaranteed positions to the entire staff of Gallatin Sunrise Center to ensure continued care of residents. Daviess County Care Center staff has been working with the staff of Gallatin Sunrise Center to make this transition as easy as possible.
As a residential care facility, Gallatin Sunrise Center residents will be able to hear a fire alarm, know what it means, and be capable of exiting the facility without assistance. Meals, housekeeping and laundry will be provided by the facility. Along with the maintenance staff to provide these services, Sunrise Center will offer 24-hour nursing coverage and be supervised by its own administrator.
Further information may be obtained by talking to Elaine Kettring, administrator at Gallatin Sunrise Center.
