Kimberly Sweatman, a junior at Northwest Missouri State University in Maryville, was initiated into the Beta Chapter of Pi Omega Pi Honor Society on Oct. 21. Members took a tour of the newly constructed Maryville Middle School. They then heard a presentation from two business teachers Christy Schwieter and Rachel Peek, both from Benton High School in St. Joseph.
Pi Omega Pi is a national business education teacher honor society. The Beta Chapter has placed in Pi Omega Pi’s “Top 10 chapters” in the nation for the past 11 years. It is also the oldest active chapter in the nation, currently in its 76th year. Dr. Nancy Zeliff, Assistant Professor of Computer Science and Information Systems, is the chapter’s sponsor.
