Gallatin Presbyterian
Fellowship is at 10:30 and the service is at 11. Everyone is welcome. The call to worship Sunday was Psalms 24:1. “The Earth is the Lord’s, and the Fullness Thereof; the World, and They That Dwell Therein.” The children’s message was “The Good Samaritan.”
Rev. Allen’s sermon was “Losing Our First Love,” from Revelations 12. Congratulations and best wishes were offered to Clark and Fallis Froman and John and Harriett Leopard on their anniversaries. We continue to be in prayer for Charles Belshe. He is reported to be slightly improved.
Pattonsburg Christian
Opening thought: “Love is patient. Love is kind. It bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never ends.” Dr. Ben Awbrey’s sermon was “A Pattern for Christian Gratitude,” from Philippians 1:3-5.
Congratulations to Linda and Lee Warford, who have a new baby daughter, Kathryn Grace, born Nov. 1. Happy anniversary to Mary and David Mott. Please remember to bring school supplies next Sunday to be put in the Christmas box, which will be sent to the hurricane and flood victims in a southern state.
You are invited to attend the Pattonsburg Community Thanksgiving services to be held in our church at 7 p.m. on Nov. 21. Rev. Bill Carter will deliver the message. Please remember in prayer Wayne Plowman, Ralph Salmon, Kaye Woodring and Minnie Conover. Our sympathy is extended to the families of Velma Newman and George Bland.
Gallatin First Baptist
The children’s message was “What’s Down in the Well Comes Up in the Bucket,” from Ephesians 5:20. Sharon Burke sang “I Know You Would” as the ministry of praise. “Tell the Truth about Evolution” was Bro. Allen’s morning message.
Sunday evening Judy Vyrostek sang the special music. Bro. Allen began a series of teaching messages on critical Biblical doctrines. Sunday evening was on “Man’s Depravity.” There will be no men’s prayer breakfast this week. Church in Conference is Sunday evening, Nov. 14. The card order will be mailed Nov. 15.
Lake Viking
Wednesday ladies Bible study was opened with prayer by Charlene VanBecelaere. June Catt led the lesson, “Learning to Trust God,” from Joshua 10. Wednesday evening Bible study was led by Roger Lankford. The Bible lesson was on “The Beginning of Sin,” from Psalms 4:5-6.
Prayer requests are for Ned Snyder, Joe and Lucy Gray, Mary Lou Anderson, Shelby and Ruby Danley. The following have improved: Guyla Cooper, Sheryl Jacobs, Mardilla Moore and Joy Wilsted. Prelude was “Showers of Blessing” by Cynthia Hillman, organ, and Buddy Myers, violin.
Guests were welcomed and the call to worship by George Jacobs was on the history of “Joyful, Joyful, We Adore Thee.” Invocation was by Ruth Bailey. The choir sang “Dwelling in Beulah Land,” directed by Karla Worthington.
The youth message was by Rev. Hillman, “Praise the Lord for What We Have.” Ministry of music was a solo by Susan MacEachern, “Psalms 46.” Susan played the auto-harp and also wrote the song. Scripture was Ephesians 5:15-17. Rev Hillman’s message was “Redeeming the Time.” Communion was served and Rev. Hillman gave the benediction. Postlude was by Cynthia and Buddy, “God Be With You.”
Pattonsburg United Methodist
Valerie’s sermon was “A Celebration of Saints,” from Rev. 7:9-17, I John 3:1-3 and Matthew 5:1-12. the Heath Chapel appreciates all who participated in any way with their harvest sale. It was very successful. Choir practice is at 7:30 p.m. on Nov. 11; at 7 p.m. on Nov. 16 and Nov. 18. All practices are at the church.
Please join us at the Christian Church at 7 p.m. on Nov. 21 for our Thanksgiving Community Service. Remember in prayer Bernice Bush, Jan Galbreath, Libby Nigler, Helen Gardner, Garl Clark, Kaye Woodring, Minnie Conover, and the family of Loretta Newby, whose mother, Bernice Todd, passed away.
Fairview Community
Opening services were led by Betty McFee with hymns of praise and prayer. John Stith read from I Corinthians 13:1-13, and followed with prayer. Sunday School concluded at Judges 21:25. The message for today was “Communion and the Lord’s Return,” from I Thessalonians 5:9-24. This evening’s service topic was “Retrospect” in our study of “The Principles of Evangelism,” from Colossians 4:5-6.

Jan Johnson was the organist on Sunday. Candlelighters were Nichole Everman and Andrew Pierce. Children’s moments was “God Will Take Care of You”– Caleb trusted in God all
the way to the promised land. Scripture lesson was Numbers 14:20-24. The message by Pastor David Fitzmaurice was “Caleb’s Pattern for Success.”

First Assembly of God
Sunday morning worship song was “Reach Out and Touch the Lord.” In the missionary march the girls collected $17.39 and the boys collected $11.42. Prayer requests were for Elizabeth Moore, Louise Curtis, Joan Irvin, Gloria Lint, and Carol Carder’s daughter. Brother Bennett’s message was “The Harvest is Ripe, but the Laborers are Few” from Matthew 9:35-38.
Starting Sunday morning the church will be open for prayer meeting. Our church invites everyone to come and enjoy good food and fellowship at 5 p.m. and to hear from Steve Bivens at 7 on Nov. 13. Steve has worked with many country music singing stars and has written many songs. Steve will tell all the great things God has done in his life. Sunday morning, Steve will share in God’s word. Altamont United Methodist
Twenty-one were present for Sunday School. Laura Smith and Melanie Brumgardt were welcome visitors. We were happy to have Jack Toney back again. Jack has retired after 30 years as respiratory therapist at Wright Memorial Hospital. The adult lesson was “God Permitted Moses to Climb Mount Nebo to View the Promised Land.” Bertie’s middle class studied “What is a Covenant?”
Our prayers are for Liz Duffy, who sustained a terrible fall Saturday with facial injuries. A sympathy card was sent to Julie Burnett in the loss of her grandmother, Laura Vanderslice. UMW Thanksgiving dinner and meeting is Nov. 9 at the church dining hall. An appreciation letter was received from Steve, Mary Ann and Matt Green of Archie.
Pattonsburg First Baptist
Sunday School attendance was 70. Happy birthday to Jake Hughes. Cindy Mason and Jason Teel sang “Thank You for Giving to the Lord” while the children carried 57 Christmas boxes to the altar to be blessed. Following worship service, Morris and Elanor Best delivered the boxes to St. Joseph to the Presbyterian Church to get them started on their journey.
Bro. Ron’s message was a continuation of last Sunday, “He Brought Us Out to Bring Us In” from Deuteronomy 6:23. Jason and Mary Ann Teel are king and queen candidates for “M” night at the McFall Church on Nov. 8. Business meeting is at 7 p.m. Wednesday.
On Nov. 21, services at Daviess County Care Center are at 2 p.m., Praise Sing at Blythedale is at 2:30 p.m., and the Thanksgiving service at the Christian Church is at 7 p.m. We will be preparing and delivering our annual Thanksgiving trays at 9 a.m. on Nov. 22.

Worship attendance was 27. Dylan Leeper and Christopher Souders gave birthday offerings. Special music was “Just a Little Talk with Jesus” and “When I See the Blood” by Owen Henderson, David and Lesa Leeper and Sarah and Lena Ishmael, accompanied by Norma Fletcher.
Bro. Elrod’s message was “Only Children Can Go Home” from Mark 10:13-16. Business meeting was held Sunday. WMU will meet Wednesday at 7 p.m. Bible question of the week: Whose son had the longest name in the Bible and what was it? Isaiah 8:1-4. Answer to last week’s question is Saul and the witch of Endor.
