Truman Schoonover, 85, Altamont, died Oct. 23, at a Cameron health care center.

Funeral services for Truman Schoonover were held Tuesday at the United Methodist Church in Altamont. Arrangements were by Bram Funeral Home, Gallatin. Burial was at Mount Ayr Cemetery, Altamont, with military rites under the auspices of Frank Frazier VFW Post #2172, Gallatin. Memorials may be made to Children’s Mercy Hospital, Kansas City, in care of the funeral home.
Truman Wallace Schoonover, 85, Altamont, died Oct. 23, 1999, at a Cameron health-care center.
Mr. Schoonover was born on the family farm near Altamont. He was a graduate of Altamont High School.
He served in the Army during World War II in the South Pacific.
Mr. Schoonover farmed all of his life in the Altamont area. He had also been a substitute bus driver for the school district for many years.
Mr. Schoonover was a member of the Altamont United Methodist Church.
On Jan. 11, 1964, he married Edna Green in Chillicothe. She survives of the home.
Mr. Schoonover was preceded in death by an infant brother.
