Gallatin R-5 golfer Allison Spidle participated in the 1999 MSHSAA Golf Championship last week at Sedalia Country Club. Spidle tied for 102nd place out of the field of 125 state golfers from all schools in Missouri.

The competition proved to be intense on the 5,285-yard, par 71 course. Spidle shot a 112 during the opening day of play, but improved during the 2nd day with a 105. Cameron senior Lauren Kling shot a 178 (tie-25th) and Trenton senior Sarah Slonecker shot a 179 (26th) to finish as the top area individuals.

Warrensburg’s Mindy Bullard, a junior, won the state individual title with a score of 156 (76, 80). The team competition was captured by Vila Duchesne, a private academy for girls in St. Louis. St. Joseph Central finished 3rd. Trenton placed 5th and Richmond came in 10th in the team competition.
