Cara Louise Croy and Bronz Toll Peterson, both of Kansas City, were united in marriage on July 31, 1999, at Platte Woods United Methodist Church in Kansas City. The Rev. Harry Foockle officiated at the double-ring ceremony. The reader was Phillip Royston of San Clemente, Calif., uncle of the bride.

Parents of the couple are Tom and Maxine Croy of Kansas City and Bill and Bryn Peterson of Clifton, Kan. Grandparents of the couple, Carl and Lenora Royston, Tom and Elsie Croy, Irene Toll, and Della Marie Peterson, were among the honored guests who attended the ceremony.

Vocalists for the ceremony were Bill Peterson, father of the groom, and Lonnie Johnston of Lenexa, Kan., friend of the groom. Amy Yeary of Salina, Kan., and Jennifer Brazil of Shawnee, Kan., friends of the bride, were candle lighters.

Escorted to the altar by her father, the bride wore a white chapel-length gown of satin and organdy. Her veil was held by a pearl beaded tiara. She carried an European hand-tied bouquet of white calla lilies and white and yellow roses.

Stephanie Shellenberger of Wichita, Kan., was the maid of honor. The bride’s other attendants were Jennifer Eilert of Beloit, Kan., a friend of the bride, Tanith Peterson of Shawnee, Kan., and Becca Peterson of Kansas City, sisters-in-law of the couple. They wore buttercup yellow dresses and carried nosegays of yellow roses.

Holly McCrory of Hutchinson, Kan., cousin of the groom, was the flower girl. Conner Royston of San Clemente, Calif., cousin of the bride, was the ring bearer.

The groom wore a black tuxedo with a white vest and tie. Jason Stenberg of Lenexa, Kan., friend of the groom, served as best man. Groomsmen were Brock Peterson of Kansas City and Brandy Peterson of Shawnee, Kan., brothers of the groom, and Scott Tucker of Wichita, Kan., a friend of the groom.

Ushers were Michael Brandley of Dallas, Texas, Robert Kooser and Scott Sanders of Wichita, Kan., friends of the groom, and T.C. Croy of Kansas City, brother of the bride. The men in the wedding party wore black tuxedos with black vests and ties.

A buffet reception and dance followed the ceremony at the Downtown Marriott Hotel in Kansas City. Following a honeymoon trip to Jamaica, the bride and groom are making their home in Kansas City.

The bride is a graduate of Maize High School, Maize, Kan. She received a B.S. degree in elementary education from Kansas State University and is a fourth grade teacher in Liberty.

The groom is a graduate of Clifton-Clyde High School, Clyde, Kan. He received a B.S. degree in life sciences from Kansas State University and a master’s degree in physical therapy from Wichita State University. He works for Key Rehabilitation in Kansas City.
