Funeral services for Alva Heldenbrand were held Tuesday at Kidder United Methodist Church. Burial was at Winston Cemetery. Arrangements were by Poland-Thompson Funeral Home, Cameron. Memorial contributions may be sent to the Kidder Untied Methodist Church or Comfort Care Hospice, Cameron.
Alva A. Heldenbrand, 80, Cameron, died Oct. 23, 1999, at his home.
Mr. Heldenbrand was born in Altamont and graduated from its high school. He lived in Cameron for the past 56 years.
Mr. Heldenbrand, a farmer in Daviess County, was active in the Balanced Farming Program, receiving the outstanding achievement award in the county in 1955.
He was a member of Kidder United Methodist Church and its Methodist Men’s Club, church board and the board of trustees. He was also a member of the Winston school board and was a 4- H Club leader.
On Oct. 18, 1941, he married Hazel Gould in Gallatin. She survives of the home.
Mr. Heldenbrand was preceded in death by two brothers, Vincel and Wayne.
Other survivors include four sons, Bud, Dallas and Bill of Savannah and Dale of Cameron; a brother, Warren, Wenatchee, Wash.; and seven grandchildren.
