Cystic fibrosis is the No. 1 killer of children and young adults in the United States. It is a genetic disease. CF causes the body to produce a thick, sticky mucus which clogs the lungs. This abnormal mucus leads to chronic lung infections, fatal lung damage, and also interferes with digestion.
Support For Families With Cystic Fibrosis is a group made up of family and friends of CF patients with a common goal of educating, supporting and sharing with one another. The nearest chapter is located at Grandview. For more information, those interested may contact Dickson or Esposito.
